Crochet Movie Scene
I had the best, most laziest weekend and I loved every second!
I had gone none stop for about 3 months now, so the down time was well needed and deserved. But even in my down time, I have to keep a little busy… I’ve been crocheting a scarf! And coincidentally I decided to watch Como Agua para Chocolate, which surprisingly had some crochet scenes! I have to admit, crochet scenes are not too common in movies. Aside from the delicious cooking scenes and romantic scenes, there are two epic crochet scenes in the movie:
1. When Tita cannot sleep because Pedro, the love of her life, is going to propose to her sister; and she crochets all night long to distract herself and to ease the coldness she is feeling.
2. When we finally see the blanket that Tita has been crocheting, as she is being taken by Dr. Brown after her mental breakdown. The blanket goes for yards! It’s a pretty amazing scene! Tita makes an amazing and beautiful granny square blanket.
It was pretty awesome seeing some crochet references, and not to mention all the Mexican traditions! (the story is set in Mexico) I really enjoyed the movie and was perfect for my long weekend of rest.
Although I had the crochet itch a few weeks ago, I officially started my crochet/loom knitting season! Look out for my soon to come projects! :)
